Biography

Amanda earned her master’s degree in dental hygiene from Old Dominion University. She is currently a faculty member at ODU and Dental Hygiene Dean at Education Affiliates.

Her current volunteer commitments include serving as a NOSCHR Advisor, WOASF Board Member, AIRLANT Spouse Course Facilitator, and Founder of Aviation Officer Spouses – Atlantic.

Her past positions include NOSCSD Honorary Chair, NOSCDC Chairman, Temptations Gift Boutique Advisor, USS Carl Vinson Family Readiness Group, CORE Steering Committee, Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club San Diego Scholarship Committee, and Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, CSA.

Amanda has volunteered numerous hours mentoring dental hygiene students and providing patient care, including Mission of Mercy dental projects in Suffolk, Virginia. She has also devoted numerous volunteer hours to prior commands and elementary, middle, and high school groups and organizations.

Originally from Palacios, Texas, Amanda has lived in Beeville, Texas; Lemoore, California; Pensacola, Florida; Coronado, California; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and Norfolk, Virginia.

Amanda has been married for 35 years and has three children: Megan, Zach, who is married to Juliana, and Jon, who is married to Mariam. She also has two grandchildren, Eve and Emilia.
