Scholarships For Dependents of US Navy Aviation

There’s a Place for You in the WOASF Community.

WOASF was built by volunteers—military spouses, veterans, alumni, families, and friends who believed that supporting Navy aviation families meant showing up for one another.

Today, we are rebuilding that community nationwide. Whether you have an hour, a particular skill, a strong local network, or simply a desire to help, there is a meaningful way to contribute—wherever life has taken you.

Find a Way to Make a Difference

You do not need a particular title, location, or amount of free time to make a meaningful contribution. Some volunteers give a few hours at an event. Others lend a professional skill, make an introduction, welcome families, or support the mission remotely.

Choose the kind of involvement that works for your life.

Community Ambassador

Help WOASF stay connected to Navy aviation families where you live. Share scholarship information, build relationships, welcome families, and represent the mission in your community.

Scholarship Outreach

Help students and families discover WOASF opportunities. Connect with schools, counselors, spouse groups, commands, and community networks.

Connector

Make an introduction. Connect WOASF with a company, command, association, community leader, donor, school, or partner who should know our mission.

Storytelling & Communications

Help tell the stories behind the mission through writing, interviews, photography, newsletters, blogs, social media, or digital content.

Donor Appreciation

Help us thank the people who make scholarships possible. Write notes, make appreciation calls, support recognition, or help strengthen donor relationships.

Events & Gatherings

Support golf tournaments, community gatherings, recognition events, outreach tables, and other opportunities that bring people together.

Share Your Professional Skills

Put your experience in marketing, technology, design, finance, fundraising, project management, communications, administration, or another specialty to work for the mission.

Mentorship & Alumni Engagement

Former scholars, veterans, retirees, and experienced community members can mentor, encourage, connect, and help the next generation.

Your Location Does Not Limit Your Impact

Navy aviation families live across the United States and around the world. WOASF's volunteer community should too.

You may be near a major installation, stationed overseas, retired far from a base, or simply looking for a meaningful way to contribute from home. There are opportunities to serve wherever you are.

LOCAL

Build relationships, share scholarship information, support events, and represent WOASF in your community.

REMOTE

Write, design, research, make calls, support social media, assist with technology, or help with projects from anywhere.

FLEXIBLE

Volunteer for one event, one project, or a few hours when your schedule allows.

ONGOING

Take on an ambassador, outreach, mentoring, leadership, or recurring support role.

Help WOASF Grow Where Navy Aviation Families Live

No national office can know every squadron, spouse group, school, association, or community as well as the people who live there.

WOASF is rebuilding a network of volunteers and ambassadors who can strengthen relationships within Navy aviation communities across the country.

You may already be the person who knows everyone. You may be the person people call when they need an introduction. You may simply care deeply about making sure families know WOASF is here.

A Community Ambassador can help:

  • Share scholarship information locally
  • Connect with commands, squadrons, spouse groups, and schools
  • Introduce community organizations and potential partners
  • Represent WOASF at local events and gatherings
  • Identify needs and opportunities within the community
  • Share local stories and accomplishments
  • Welcome new families into the WOASF network

Find Purpose. Build Community. Stay Connected.

Volunteering with WOASF is about accomplishing meaningful work, but it is also about the people you meet along the way.

For generations, Wings Over America created friendships and connections that lasted through moves, deployments, retirement, and changing seasons of military life.

We want volunteering to feel that way again.

Come because you want to help a student.
Stay because you found a community.
